HEADS OF LUKOIL AND YAMAL NENETS DISTRICT DISCUSS REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT

President of LUKOIL Vagit Alekperov and the Governor of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District, Dmitry Artyukhov, met in Moscow, today. The parties discussed future cooperation on the region's social and economic development, strategic hydrocarbon-production projects and also the company's involvement in social and environmental initiatives.
LUKOIL develops several fields in Yamal, including Nakhodkinskoye and Pyakyakhinskoye, a unique oil-and-gas condensate deposit commissioned in 2016. Today, the company is busy with interpretation of the seismic data for Vareyskoye license area.
In its development of assets in the Arctic region, LUKOIL actively introduces environment-protection technologies and applies an environmental management system across the company's structures and units, thus reducing the environmental load. LUKOIL takes part in environmental projects of the regional government, such as waste cleanup on Vilkitsky Island in the Kara Sea or the recently completed scavenging operations on Bely Island.
As part of agreements with the Government of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District, LUKOIL supports the development of a social infrastructure by building educational, cultural, health-care and sports facilities. The company also supports the YAMINEH Charity Foundation which helps promote judo, airborne tourism, hang gliding and ultralight aviation. Besides, the foundation contributes to the development of agriculture and facilitates projects meant to preserve the national culture and traditions of the indigenous population.
