PJSC LUKOIL and Sochi Autodrom have signed a partnership agreement for the period until 2019 to facilitate arrangement of sporting events on Russia’s most modern race track.
As part of this cooperation, LUKOIL will act as partner of TCR Russian Series that for the second time will take place in Sochi Autodrom this year while the main fan zone will be officially called as LUKOIL Tribune.
“We have been developing motorsports in Russia for 17 years. Racers of LUKOIL Racing Team have achieved unprecedented results winning more than 50 championships and Cups in Russia and scoring about 500 victories in Russian and international competitions. This year when LUKOIL celebrates its 25th anniversary we decided to support the main race track in Russia. This will facilitate reinforcing the image of our country as the host of important motorsports competitions,” said Vagit Alekperov, President of PJSC LUKOIL.
“LUKOIL traditionally pays great attention to the development of social programs and support to Russian sports. I am confident that cooperation between the motorsports complex and one of the largest oil and gas companies of the country will allow for implementing new projects of public interest in Kuban region and promoting motorsports,” noted Governor of Krasnodar Region Veniamin Kondratyev.
“Sochi Autodrom being most modern, multifunctional and the only year-round facility of the kind in Russia is an excellent choice for holding motor race competitions and is suitable for different types of activities from sports and mass entertainment to educational and corporate events. In this context, the cooperation with LUKOIL constitutes a logical and naturally determined decision which, no doubt, will be beneficial for the development of motorsports in our country,” commented Sergey Vorobyev, deputy general director of NPJSC Center Omega.
