LUKOIL APPROVES PROGRAM OF INDUSTRIAL SAFETY, IMPROVEMENT OF WORKING CONDITIONS AND HEALTH, EMERGENCY PREVENTION AND RESPONSE FOR 2011-2015

The OAO LUKOIL Management Committee approved a Program of Industrial Safety, Improvement of Working Conditions and Health, Emergency Prevention and Response for 2011-2015.
The program funding will total RUB 40.1 billion.
Specifically, the program includes scientific research in the field of industrial safety, occupational safety and employee health, personnel training, education and advanced training, improvement of the existing system of personnel training and knowledge assessment using state-of-the-art information technologies and introduction of a mandatory personnel-training system.
Most expenses under the Program are associated with emergency prevention and response. It is planned to equip the Company’s production facilities with additional emergency warning systems, to teach protection techniques to employees and to conduct emergency-prevention and response training sessions. It is also planned to ensure that all functions of the Company have in place the reserves of financial and tangible resources required to eliminate and minimize the consequences of emergencies and natural disasters.
Total costs in connection with the Program of Industrial Safety, the Improvement of Working Conditions and Health, Emergency Prevention and Response for 2006-2010 were RUB 26.3 billion.
