LUKOIL COMMISSIONS A NEW 110 MW COMBINED CYCLE GAS TURBINE UNIT

Vagit Alekperov, President of OAO LUKOIL, and Alexander Zhilkin, Governor of the Astrakhan Region, participated in a ceremony dedicated to the commissioning of the combined cycle gas turbine unit with a capacity of 110 megawatts (ССGT-110 unit) in Astrakhan today.
The efficiency coefficient of the CCGT-110 unit is 51%, which complies with the world’s highest standards. Due to the technology involved, it is possible to re-utilize the high-temperature exhaust gas for production of extra steam and, consequently, extra electric power.
This technology allows for a two-fold reduction in the specific fuel consumption for electric power generation and to improve the environmental component of the generation process. For instance, the nitrogen oxide emission level will be reduced by a factor of two or three.
The CCGT-110 unit utilizes natural gas as prime and backup fuel.
LUKOIL invested over RUR 4.6 billion in the project.
