LUKOIL COMMISSIONS NEW GAS TURBINE
Tuesday, July 2, 2013
LUKOIL has commissioned a combined-cycle gas-turbine unit (CCGT) with a capacity of 120 MW, a new component of the CCGT complex with an overall capacity of 235 MW, now being constructed in Astrakhan under the Power Delivery Contract (PDC).
The second 115-MW CCGT unit, another component of the CCGT-235 complex, is to be commissioned in September of 2013.
CCGT-235 has sufficient heat-generation capacity to supply Babaevsky district of Astrakhan and ensure its further development.
The efficiency level of the new CCGT units exceeds 51%, making them compliant with the world’s highest standards. Compared with the existing thermal power plants, this CCGT unit reduces fuel consumption 1.5 times and decreases air-pollutant emissions 2-3 times.
Under the Power Delivery Contract, LUKOIL had previously commissioned a CCGT-110 at the Astrakhan State District Power Plant in 2011 and a CCGT-410 at the Krasnodar Central Heating and Power Plant in 2012.
