Wednesday, February 4, 2015
A unit for recovery and granulation of sulfur was commissioned today at Bayandyskoye field of OOO LUKOIL-Komi (a wholly-owned subsidiary of OAO LUKOIL). The new production facility was launched by Vagit Alekperov, OAO LUKOIL President, and Vyacheslav Gaizer, Head of the Komi Republic.
The plant will make it possible to fully utilize hydrogen sulfide and will allow for no harmful emissions of the gas into the environment, which complies with the RF Government Regulation “On Measures to Reduce Atmospheric Air Pollution with Associated Petroleum Gas Combustion Products at Flares”.
“Development of Bayandyskoye field infrastructure is a key point in the development of the Denisovsky license area. The commissioning of the new unit for recovery and granulation of sulfur solves important engineering and no less important environmental issues,” Mr. Alekperov noted.
