LUKOIL COMMISSIONS SOLAR POWER PLANT IN KRASNODAR
Friday, August 12, 2022
LUKOIL Group's solar power plant (SPP) in Krasnodar received a certificate of renewable energy sources-based generating facility and was put into operation. The 2.35 MW SPP is located on the 3.53 ha of the two unused land plots at Krasnodar CHPP.
This is the third solar power generation plant built by LUKOIL on the unused areas of its production facilities in the Russian South. In 2018 and 2021, the Company has successfully implemented two solar power projects with total capacity of 30 MW at its Volgograd refinery.
Commissioning of the first SPP in Krasnodar will provide an additional annual generation of 3 million kWh of green electricity, thus preventing emission of up to 1.5 thousand tonnes of CO2 equivalent per year. All electricity generated by the plant is supplied to the Kuban energy system. The majority of the SPP equipment is Russia-made. The project was implemented in cooperation with Hevel Group, which made a series of contributions, including manufacturing and supply of solar modules.
The Krasnodar SPP is a part of the region's electric power industry development program for 2022-2026. The plant is also included into the state program of renewable energy support in retail market.
