LUKOIL DEVELOPS A NEW TECHNOLOGY OF WASTE TREATMENT

The LUKOIL-Nizhegorodniinefteproekt research institute has developed an unrivaled waste-treatment technology for the hydrogen fluoride alkylation units operating at refineries. In the course of production of high-octane gasoline components, the hydrogen fluoride alkylation units generate waste, currently removed for utilization. The new technology developed by LUKOIL specialists makes it possible to produce calcium fluoride from this waste, which can be used in the metal industry and completely replace the imported fluorspar, a natural equivalent of calcium fluoride, which is in high demand in the market.
