Governor of Stavropol Region Vladimir Vladimirov and President of LUKOIL Vagit Alekperov took part in the official opening of a stadium, constructed in the city of Budyonnovsk with the company's financial support.
The new facility is located at the site of the sports and health center Lukomorye, constructed as part of the Cooperation Agreement between the Stavropol Region Government and LUKOIL and commissioned in 2017.
The new stadium features a soccer field with artificial turf, race tracks, a sandpit, a shot put site and tribunes under a shed to seat up to five hundred people.
Lukomorye is one of Stavropol's largest sports and health facilities with a multi-purpose hall with 716 seats, an ice arena with 120 seats, a swimming pool and a gym. The capacity of the facilities can be increased to seat over fifteen hundred people for regional and nationwide sports events.
Vladimir Vladimirov and Vagit Alekperov also visited production sites of LUKOIL's wholly owned petrochemical plant Stavrolen, where they held a working session and met with employees of the plant.
As part of the cooperation agreement and following the National Sports and Physical Training Development Plan LUKOIL also opened a sports ground, equipped for futsal, volleyball and basketball, in Budyonnovsk in 2017.
