LUKOIL SHARES ITS EXPERIENCE IN ENVIRONMENTAL RISK MANAGEMENT

April Today in Moscow, PJSC LUKOIL representatives participated in a conference titled "Environmental modernization of the Russian industrial sector" following the Year of Ecology results. The speakers included Vladimir Burmatov, Chairman of the State Duma Ecology and Environmental Protection Committee, Alexander Vasilenko, member of the Committee of the State Duma of the Russian Federation on ecology and environmental control, Gennady Ordenov, member of the Committee for Agrarian and Food Policy and Environmental Management of the Council of the Federation, Vasily Osmakov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Andrey Kolodkin, Director of the Department for Government Policies and Environmental Protection Regulations at the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment of Russia, as well as representatives from other relevant agencies, industrial corporations and international environmental organizations.
Ilya Mandrik, PJSC LUKOIL Vice President for Exploration and Development, presented the 2017 results of the Company's environmental achievements as part of the Russian projects at the plenary session on Russia's environmental safety strategy. Among the key achievements were a 95.2% increase in the associated petroleum gas utilization level, a 21% decrease in atmospheric pollutant emissions, 9% less pipeline failures, and a reduction in water consumption and wastewater discharge volumes. Around 200 maneuvers of different levels of complexity were conducted, including pollution relief in the Arctic.
In early 2018, the Company inaugurated its first solar station in Russia at Volgograd refinery.
More than 900 environmental measures were scheduled as part of the 2018-2020 Environmental Safety Program of the LUKOIL Group entities.
