LUKOIL SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH FEDERAL AGENCY FOR ETHNIC AFFAIRS

President of LUKOIL Vagit Alekperov and Head of the Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs Igor Barinov signed an Agreement on Cooperation in Moscow, today. The Agreement is intended to contribute to social, economic and cultural development of indigenous peoples in those regions of the Russian Federation, where the company operates.
The document, promoting best practices of cooperation between business and associations of indigenous peoples and members of local communities, provides for the establishment of joint working and steering consultative groups to address the agenda of the indigenous population and development of a program to protect their rights.
The signing of the agreement was timed to coincide with the Ethnography Quiz. This international educational event, organized by the Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs across Russia and CIS countries on the 3rd of November, helps test the knowledge of history and culture of indigenous peoples and promote the unique cultural heritage of local communities, ethnic minorities of the North among them.
