LUKOIL SIGNS COOPERATION AGREEMENT WITH RF MINISTRY OF NATURAL RESOURCES AND ENVIRONMENT

Minister of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation Sergey Donskoy, Head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources Artem Sidorov and First Executive Vice President of LUKOIL Ravil Maganov have signed a tripartite agreement on cooperation.
The document implies measures to be taken to reduce negative environmental impact in 2017. These include construction of a 75-megawatt power farm,Yarega, and of a landfill for liquid and solid oil sludge at Shchelyayur field in the Republic of Komi. Also, a management system will be established to control the quality of the marine environment at LUKOIL-Nizhnevolzhskneft fields in the Caspian Sea.
The planned measures will help fulfill the RF President's decree "On Holding a Year of the Environment in Russia" in 2017. The measures will also help to improve the environment and raise public awareness of what is being done to resolve issues of the country's environmental development.
