Wednesday, December 19, 2012
Baku started assembly of a transport and installation barge (TIB) for the construction of offshore platforms at Vladimir Filanovsky field, whose active field facility development will be launched by LUKOIL in 2013.
The TIB will be used for pile mounting to substructures of the offshore platforms and installation of catwalk bridges between them with an offshore crane whose loading capacity is 400 tons, as well as for the installation of the topside sections of the drilling platform (IRFP-1), a central processing platform (CPP) and a living quarters module (LQM -1).
The TIB’s loading capacity is 13,450 tons, the length is 140.3 m, and the width is 62.3 m.
The T-shaped TIB consists of two main pontoons and two additional pontoons (outriggers) that ensure increased load capacity and vessel stability while transporting over-tonnaged and oversized cargo, for instance, IRFP-1 and CPP topside sections.
It is expected that the TIB construction and testing will be completed by the middle of March 2013.
