LUKOIL SUPPORTS HEALTH CARE INSTITUTIONS IN LENINGRAD REGION

Vagit Alekperov, President of LUKOIL, handed over an 11,100,000-ruble check to Valery Serdyukov, Governor of Leningrad region, today. The funds will be used to purchase equipment for medical institutions.
The donation is timed to the 60th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War and is designed to support Medical Care Institutions Development and Re-equipment Program in Leningrad region. The program will also focus on medical service upgrade for the war veterans and disabled.
LUKOIL considers Leningrad region as a priority area for its operations. In 2004 LUKOIL-II oil and oil products export terminal was put into operation by the Company in the city of Vysotsk. Apart from core operations, LUKOIL views its active participation in the region’s social life as an indispensable undertaking. The Company has already realized a number of social and charitable programs in Leningrad region. For example the Company purchased a unique stimulator-tomograph for the region’s clinic and 10 buses for the region’s schools. LUKOIL also sponsored publication of a schoolbook on history.

In honor of Victory Day LUKOIL has allocated around 140 million rubles to be spent on social and charitable projects in the regions where it operates.
