LUKOIL TO CONTINUE SOCIAL AND CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT OF KOGALYM

Governor of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District – Yugra Natalya Komarova and President of LUKOIL Vagit Alekperov discussed cooperation on social and cultural development of the region in Moscow today.
The agenda of the meeting covered the company sponsored onward construction of public amenities in Kogalym, including a museum cluster that will be comprised of the local branch of the State Russian Museum, a planetarium, a museum of numismatics, a museum of oil and a museum of traditional Russian tea urns, samovars. The company also plans to support construction of a music school, tropical garden Yaranga with a regional ethnography museum, construction of new housing estates in the city of Kogalym, as well as reconstruction of Galaktika sports and culture center to include a new eponymous park.
Earlier on, LUKOIL opened the first ever local branch of the State Academic Maly Theatre outside Moscow and an arts center of the Russian Museum that, together with the sports and culture center Galaktika and the Church of the Holy Martyr Tatiana, also constructed with support of the company, contribute to the region's growing popularity among tourists.
