LUKOIL TO SUPPORT CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW STAGE FOR THE YOUTH THEATRE IN PERM
Thursday, February 4, 2021
LUKOIL and the Perm region signed a Cooperation Protocol for 2021. The company will keep implementing socially important projects in the region. For example, construction of a heat distribution network in the settlement of Kuyeda and a school in the settlement of Tyush will continue. A multi-purpose stadium will be built in the city of Chernushka. However, the greatest project of them all is construction of a new stage for the Perm Youth Theatre. The new stage will be situated on Permskaya Street, in a building called Dom Uezdnogo Zemstva, which is a part of the region's architectural heritage. To this end, the building will undergo restoration.
"The small stage of the theatre will open in 2023, on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the city of Perm. This will be oil workers' gift to the region. It is a grand project that will not only provide the theatre with new growth opportunities, but also change the appearance of one of Perm's central streets," noted Vagit Alekperov, President of LUKOIL.
"Last September, LUKOIL and our region signed a large-scale agreement that would guide our cooperation over the next five years. Today we reaffirmed our plans and spelled them out in detail. Clear-cut operation procedures and steadfast commitment to obligations are defining features of LUKOIL, one of our main partners. This inspires confidence that everything planned will translate into action. That is of particular importance, as we are preparing for Perm's anniversary," said Dmitry Makhonin, Governor of the Perm region.
