LUKOIL TO SUPPORT CONSTRUCTION OF NEW SPORTS TRAINING CENTER IN KOGALYM

Today in St. Petersburg at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum President of LUKOIL Vagit Alekperov, Minister of Sports of Russia Pavel Kolobkov and Governor of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District – Yugra Natalya Komarova have signed a three-party agreement to build a sports training center in Kogalym through the public-private partnership.  

The sports center will make it possible for the children of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District – Yugra to practice such winter Olympic sports as hockey, figure skating, short track and curling at a professional level and will assist in promoting the healthy life style among the residents of Kogalym.

Supporting sports is one of the important areas of LUKOIL's social policy in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District – Yugra. The Company is active in developing the social infrastructure of the region by taking part in the construction of some major facilities. The biggest sports and leisure center in Europe, Galaktika, featuring an indoor water park, oceanarium and a greenhouse was built in Kogalym under the Cooperation Agreement between LUKOIL and the Government of the region. Also, the branch of the Maly Theatre was opened in Kogalym which became the first of its kind in Russia outside Moscow. LUKOIL has also supported the construction of the St. Tatiana Church in Kogalym.
