Friday, June 4, 2021
President of LUKOIL Vagit Alekperov and Governor of the Tula region Alexei Dyumin met today at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum to sign a Cooperation Agreement.
The Company will supply advanced petroleum asphalts, polymer-bitumen binders, bitumen emulsions, as well as other bitumen-based materials for road construction in the region. This will help to elongate service life of roadway pavements, considering their usage environment and regional climate.
LUKOIL is among the leaders of Russian bitumen production. The Company is constantly working to broaden its range of products and improve their quality. LUKOIL's main bitumen production centres are located at its refineries in Volgograd and Nizhny Novgorod regions. The Nizhny Novgorod facility houses Russia's biggest Research Centre for the Development of Bituminous Materials, whose technical equipment is on par with the best European bitumen research institutions. Laboratories of the centre offer over 70 techniques to test bitumen and bitumen concretes. These techniques can model any traffic load and weather conditions.
