LUKOIL USES INDIGENOUS RUSSIAN TECHNOLOGIES FOR POWER GENERATION IN KOMI

{ 7/5/2017 12:00:00 AM }

LUKOIL has commissioned a steam-generating unit with the production capacity of 20 tonnes of steam an hour at Usinsky field in the Komi Republic.

This is the first in a series of steam-generating plants co-developed by the company specialists and homegrown machine-builders as part of the import phase-out program for field infrastructure construction.

Russian-manufactured gas-turbine power units and waste heat exchangers have also been used as basic components of a 75 megawatt power farm, Yarega, designed to generate power and steam for the company’s oil producing and refining facilities.

LUKOIL possesses considerable reserves of highly viscous oil whose extraction requires thermal and cyclic steam treatment of the formations. Broader use of modern solutions for generation of power and steam is a way to raise the efficiency of oilfield development.
