NEW EXHIBITION PRESENTED BY LUKOIL AND MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY RUSSIAN HISTORY

An exhibition, “Space Era”, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the first manned space flight and the Year of Cosmonautics in Russia, opened today in the State Central Museum of Contemporary History of Russia, with OAO LUKOIL support.
On display are unique materials from the repository collections of posters, paintings, graphic art and also documents, photos, models and personal belongings of the astronauts, or cosmonauts, as they are called in Russia. Particular attention is given to international cooperation in the area of cosmic exploration and peaceful uses of outer space.
In addition, LUKOIL illustrates one of the ways it uses space technology in the oil industry: the monitoring from space of its fields in the Baltic and Caspian seas.
The exhibition will be open till May 15, 2011.
Previously, LUKOIL has provided support to other exhibitions organized by the same museum: “The Oil of Russia: Traditions and Modern Age” (2006), “V.G. Shukhov, Russia’s Foremost Engineer” (2008), “The Nobel Dynasty for Russia” (2009) and “N.К. Baybakov. The Path of the Creator” (2011).
