PRESS SECRETARY STATEMENT
Monday, March 19, 2018
Reports concerning dealings between LUKOIL Group and SCL Group published by a number of UK and US mass media are false.
Neither the data base of LUKOIL Group's contracts nor the database of its suppliers and contractors contain any records of agreements with SCL Group or SCL Group as a counterparty.
Representatives of LUKOIL never met or attempted to meet in London with the staff of SCL Group or its offices, including, in particular, Cambridge Analytica.
The Company has no interest whatsoever in utilizing political targeting techniques mentioned in certain publications.
LUKOIL is successfully running its business in more than 40 countries in strict compliance with the host country laws, and is not involved in any political activity.
SCL Group, like many other consulting firms, offered their services to LUKOIL Eurasia Petrol (Istanbul) which sells petroleum products in Turkey. It was there that they made a presentation of their capabilities to promote LUKOIL's gas stations in Turkey. LUKOIL Eurasia Petrol was not interested in the offer, and there was no follow-up on the presentation. The relevant response to the mass media inquiry was provided by Arash Repac, CEO of LUKOIL Eurasia Petrol, back in November 2017.
In view of the above and the correspondence between the executives of LUKOIL Eurasia Petrol and the mass media available to the Company, PJSC LUKOIL is looking into various options to protect its business reputation in the relevant jurisdictions.
