PRESS SERVICE STATEMENT
Wednesday, November 6, 2013
In response to some mass media reports that the operation of the catalytic-cracking unit at the Nizhny Novgorod refinery has been suspended due to an alleged emergency, the OAO LUKOIL Press Service would like to announce that there have been no emergencies at the unit since its commissioning in December of 2010.
The catalytic-cracking unit actually suspended its operations for scheduled maintenance from November 5 to November 24, 2013.
The maintenance of the unit is conducted during the period of seasonal sales slowdown and will not affect the balance of demand and supply at the Russian market where large amounts of automobile gasoline are stocked.
LUKOIL is fully able to ensure an uninterrupted supply to the consumers, both from its own stock and through purchases of additional amounts of automobile gasoline at the RF commodity exchanges and over-the-counter market.
