PRESS SERVICE STATEMENT
Friday, October 23, 2020
Administration of Usinsk (the Republic of Komi) issued a decree revoking the municipal state of emergency in the Usinsk urban district starting at 6:30 p.m. on October 23, 2020. The state of emergency had been introduced because of the loss of piping integrity of a non-functioning pipeline at the Kharyaginskoye field and an ensuing leakage of oil-containing fluids into the Kolva River.
After a series of clean-up operations, the Kolva River water body and its shores were completely cleared of the traces of petroleum products. The state of water and adjoining areas is under constant monitoring.
People, machinery and equipment that were involved in the post-accident clean-up are getting ready for demobilisation.
