The President of Russia Vladimir Putin sent a congratulatory telegram to LUKOIL President Vagit Alekperov on the occasion of his 70th birthday.
"You have made a long commendable professional journey, made a great contribution to the development of Russian oil and gas industry, rightly gained great respect and indisputable authority among your colleagues and subordinates, as well as in Russian business community," the telegram says.
The head of the state also saluted Vagit Alekperov's achievements in charity.
"You place emphasis on meaningful public work and charity, on implementing much-needed social entrepreneurship, science, education and sports projects," the telegram says.
