Today at Lukoil Volgogradneftepererabotka (Volgograd) three new production facilities: KM-3 motor oil production complex and state-of-the-art motor oil and bitumen packaging lines were put into operation. Volgograd Region Governor Nikolai Maksiuta and LUKOIL President Vagit Alekperov took active part in the event.

LUKOIL Press Office announces that the company did not bid for a 75% stake in Rafineria Gdanska due to the fact that LUKOIL and Rotch Energy were unable to reach an agreement for the main provisions of the consortium.

Today the first stone was laid in the foundation of an oil product terminal on the island of Vysotsky (Leningrad region). The ceremony was attended by Vagit Alekperov, LUKOIL President, Victor Cherkessov, Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in North West Federal District, Valery Serdiukov, Governor of Leningrad Region, representatives of local authorities, journalists from central and local media.

Today, June 27, LUKOIL held its Annual General Meeting in Moscow. The shareholders approved the annual operations for 2001.

OAO LUKOIL prepared consolidated financial statements under US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP). The financials were audited by an independent auditor, KPMG, and approved by the Board of Directors of LUKOIL.

Today, at the Admiralty Shipyards in St. Petersburg, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin took part in a keel-watering ceremony of a new ice-breaker class tanker named "Usinsk", built for LUKOIL. The ceremony was also attended by Head of the Komi Republic Vladimir Torlopov, St. Petersburg Governor Vladimir Yakovlev, LUKOIL President Vagit Alekperov.
