LUKOIL was the first oil company in Russia to endorse the “Zero Routine Flaring by 2030” initiative. Announced by the World Bank in April of 2015, it aimed to join together the efforts of government authorities, oil companies and public organizations in the sphere of beneficiary utilization of APG.

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Merziyoyev received President of LUKOIL Vagit Alekperov​. They discussed implementation of LUKOIL’s current projects in Uzbekistan and prospects for broader cooperation. Special attention was paid to progress in the construction of a gas-processing works in Kandym and to the implementation of the project dubbed Full Development of Gissar.​

Vagit Alekperov, President of LUKOIL, and Natalia Komarova, Governor of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra, signed a supplemental agreement to the Cooperation Agreement between the oil company and the regional government, in Moscow today.  Funds will be allocated to outfit with equipment the branch of Moscow’s State Academic Maly Theater of Russia, now under construction in Kogalym.

Under a construction project set in motion by LUKOIL at its Volgograd Refinery, a 10-megawatt solar power station will be erected on plots of land not involved in the production cycle. The commissioning is slated for the first quarter of 2018.

LUKOIL's accumulated oil production at Pyakyakhinskoye oil and gas condensate field in the Yamal-Nenets Autonneomous District has exceeded 1 million tonnes since the start of commercial production in October 2016. The accumulated production of gas has exceeded 1.3 billion cubic meters.
