Thursday, October 6, 2016
LUKOIL has successfully completed reconstruction of the diesel fuel hydrodearomatization block of the hydrocracker at Perm Refinery, accommodating it for hydrodewaxing. This modernization will allow the Company to increase production volumes of EURO 5 winter diesel.
The project has been implemented as part of a quadripartite agreement between LUKOIL, the Federal Antimonopoly Service, the Federal Environmental, Engineering and Nuclear Supervision Service and the Federal Technical Regulation and Metrology Agency of Russia.
LUKOIL commenced production of EURO 5 gasoline and diesel fuel in 2007. The company became the first one in Russia to completely stop production of fuels below EURO 5 in 2012.
By contrast to earlier fuel standards, EURO 5 fuels produce less emissions of polluting substances, including nitrogen oxide, carbon dioxide and combustion gases.
